Support the Galleries! Every gift—no matter the amount—is integral to our continued success.
Financial support to the Ewing Gallery and UT Downtown Gallery, supports exhibitions, related programming, and our permanent collection.
UT Downtown Gallery Fund
The UT Downtown Gallery Fund supports the operations, programming, community engagement, and exhibitions of the gallery.
As Knoxville’s downtown neighborhoods have grown over the past two decades, rent costs have risen dramatically – doubling in the past ten years. At the same time, university funding has stagnated. We have been fortunate to offer free programming without outside funding, however we are now seeking assistance from our community to continue being able to serve the downtown and Knoxville area, as the university’s only public-facing professional visual arts organization located within the community.
The Ewing Gallery of Art + Architecture Fund
Est. 1981 & 1994 – Established in memory of C. Kermit “Buck” Ewing, the first head of the Department of Art. The fund provides support for broad-based functions of the Ewing Gallery including, but not limited to, special projects, supplemental travel funds, student awards, art acquisitions and support materials, equipment and supplies, visiting artists, and community outreach.
The Samuel Yates Ewing Gallery Quasi Endowment
Est. 2022 – Established a named endowment in recognition of the enormous contributions that Sam Yates has made to the School of Art over 40 years of service to the School of Art as Professor and Director of the Ewing Gallery and the Downtown Gallery. Contributions to the fund will be used for Ewing Gallery programming and to support the conservation, exhibition, and study of the Ewing Collection in the Samuel A. Yates Study Room.
